WATER QUALITY ADVISORY
The Van Anda Improvement District has issued a WATER QUALITY ADVISORY
The Environmental Health Officer has recommended a water quality advisory within the Van Anda Improvement District. Please note, this is not a Boil Water Notice.
Those with health concerns may wish to follow the guidelines of the Boil Water Notice, which states that water should be boiled for two minutes prior to consumption.
All residents are requested to notify their immediate neighbours who may be unaware of the water quality advisory, especially those with health concerns.

Partial Water Outage – Columbia St – January 15th
Attention Residents:
There will be a partial water outage affecting the following area(s):
- Columbia Street between Van Anda Ave and Smelter Ave
Date: (correction)Thursday January 15th, 2026
Time: (correction) 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (approx. 3 hours)
This outage is necessary to perform the installation of new connections to the water main to facilitate water meters.
There may be temporary, harmless discolouration of the water.
Water service should resume promptly after the work is completed.
Please plan accordingly and have sufficient water on hand for essential needs.

Road Closure Notice – Columbia Street – Wed January 14th 2026
Columbia St. will be closed to all traffic between Van Anda Avenue and Smelter Avenue starting Wednesday morning January 14th., 2026
The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday afternoon, but the closure may extend into Thursday morning, January 15th., 2026 if required.

- Preliminary works: Vacuum excavation will begin Tuesday January 13th. Please use caution when driving in the area.
- Location: Columbia St (between Van Anda Ave and Smelter Ave)
- Closure Period: Begins Wednesday morning; may last until Thursday morning
- Access: No through traffic permitted during closure
- Detours: Please use alternate routes around the closure zone
