Water Outage

Water Outage

Water is off temporarily due to an urgent leak repair.

If possible, turn off main water supply within your home and turn off electricity to your hot water tank to avoid heating element burn.

Once repair is completed, run water in your bath/shower for 5 – 20 minutes until the water runs clear. Slowly open other taps in your home.

Stage 2 Water Restrictions have been lifted and regular water use can begin.

There are still prohibitions and regulations in place; these last all year.

  • No person shall damage or allow the deterioration of any appliance so as to result in an increase in water use.
  • No person shall waste water by using more water than is required to provide a service, produce a product, or complete a task, including but not limited to allowing a tap or hose to run water unnecessarily and over-watering plants or lawns.
  • No person shall apply water intended for irrigation to an impervious surface such as a street, parking lot, sidewalk or driveway.
  • No person, being an owner or occupier of property in the Improvement District or in an electoral area service area, shall use water or cause water to be used contrary to the restrictions in effect at the time.
  • The water operator or any board trustee has the authority to enter at all reasonable times on any property that is subject to this bylaw to ascertain whether the requirements of this bylaw are being met or the regulation sin this bylaw are being observed.

The property owner shall be responsible for the safe keeping, maintenance, repair and replacement of all service pipes and plumbing systems from the outlet of the District’s curb stop or standard waterworks valve at his property line and shall protect them from frost or other damage, and shall promptly repair frozen, leaky or imperfect pipes or fixtures. (Bylaw 34)

Stage 1 water restrictions will start April 1 2023, unless there is need for restriction before that date.
