Huanted memories will forever will be in the shadows chasing you. The fire family across the world will be always be there to light the way for your members.
You might as well turn this sucker off!
all the fire departments in the county need help. We’ve heard all the excuses. I can’t commit to (fill in the blank), I’m not always available, I’m too young/old, I don’t know anything about it. They are just excuses. We are all volunteers. We can when we can and we can’t when we can’t.
This is an incredible job you get paid for in ways that aren’t money. If you’ve ever thought about it, contact the VFD in your area. The hardest part, is walking through that station door the first time.
We all live in the communities we serve. How can you make a difference?
Every fire department across the country needs help.
5:15 am VAFD got paged out to a structure fire luckily the home owners had it out before the chief was on scene. The fire started in an electrical box that was over loaded by using a space heater. As we get cooler temperatures here in the next week or so please be aware how much you are loading up your electric system. If you are adding space heaters make sure that the electrical system you have can take the extra load and keep the area free of anything around the space heaters. The home owners had fire extinguishers handy and it most likely saved themselves not to speak of their home.
Also would like to thank GBVD for automatically assist page even when VAFD standed you down once the scene was assisted and extra help wasn't needed.
Crazy how many calls hall 2 gets in Vancouver BC. The system is broken, there needs to be a better way for everyone involved. First responders are getting burned out and families are losing their love ones to many times to these ODs. Thank you Hall 2 for everything you do.
