Van Anda Fire district will still have a no burning after the Aug 28th at noon but any where outside the Van Anda fire district camp fires will be allowed. The Van Anda fire district fire band is in place until Oct 15.
Due to the down-turn in weather, Coastal Fire Centre will be rescinding the category one open fire use prohibition, effective August 28th at 12 noon.
This includes campfires, fireworks, sky-lanterns, binary exploding targets, burn barrels or burn cages, air curtain burners, chimineas, tiki style torches, and of course wood fire pizza ovens and hot tubs.
The category two and three prohibitions for back-yard and industrial burning will remain in effect.
🔥 FACT: 90% of home ignitions in Canada are caused by airborne embers, not the advancing flame front.
That’s why it is so important to take steps that reduce the potential for embers to collect on or near your home.
