VAID is very pleased to announce that we successfully applied for a grant for $ 969,352.00 from the Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs that will cover all the costs of purchasing and installing water meters to all our water connections.

We have scheduled a community meeting for 7 pm on Thursday May 22 at the Legion in order to provide details of the grant and project.

The road at Columbia/Midas will be closed from 8 am to 5 pm on Friday Jul 19. Work planned is installation of waterline conduit under the road. Water services should not be affected at this time.
The area of work is on the main road used going uphill from the store towards Wall St/Imperial Quarry/High Rd.

MOTI Texada Drainage Report (2024)
Parsons was retained by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) of British Columbia to undertake engineering services for a drainage study on Texada Island. The purpose of the study was to assess the condition and vulnerability of six priority areas, which cover culvert crossings along major traveling routes.
The primary objectives of the study were as follows:
In addition to the six priority sites, major arterial roads were included as part of the field condition assessments for major culvert crossings.
